Youth Now

I feel this program has allowed me to develop a better understanding of leadership on an executive level. My eyes have been opened to a whole new level of community service where a leader’s decision making and critical thinking may affect countless people.

Youth Now is designed to harness the leadership potential found in our community by training young adults, who are high school graduates and under the age of 26, to serve as board members for local non-profit organizations.
There are two distinct components to the Youth Now module: 1) a leadership development program for youth who are looking to make an impact in their community; and 2) an opportunity for non-profit organizations to strengthen their boards through the infusion of younger community leaders.
Leadership Richmond – Youth Now includes training for both the young adults and non-profit organizations participating in the program. Youth Now leaders develop their leadership skills, along with their understanding of the roles that boards of directors fill and the benefits of being involved as a community leader. Organizations learn how to strengthen their boards by involving youth as full participants and mentoring them through the program.
The application period for the 2012-13 Youth Now program is closed. Check back again in July 2013 for information on how you can participate next year.
