| Because we’re
here … organizations can better help those in need. |
Economically, the value of volunteer
work in Canada is estimated at over $14 billion. An impressive
number indeed, but the true impact of volunteer effort cannot
truly be measured by a dollar value alone. Simply put, volunteers
make things happen. Without them, food banks and shelters would
close. Children with cancer would have no summer camps where
they can just be kids. Our children would have no sports tournaments
or leagues to compete in.
Our Volunteer Centre provides essential services to maximize the impact that volunteers make in the community. Potential volunteers can find volunteer opportunities here or by clicking Volunteer Richmond! at the top of the page.
Through our popular training sessions
on volunteer management, we’re helping non-profit organizations
involve volunteers effectively and creatively.
We are also the leaders in celebrating Richmond volunteers.
Our annual Volunteers Are
Stars Gala Dinner and Awards honours the contribution, spirit
and commitment of community volunteers, and is one of the prestigious
events on the community calendar. Our “I
Volunteer” columns in the Richmond Review bring inspiring
volunteer stories to your doorstep.
