This free service provides trained volunteer Seniors Information & Referral Counsellors to help seniors find the assistance and resources they need, either by phone or in person, by appointment. This program is offered in collaboration with Vancouver Coastal Health/Richmond Health Services and in partnership with the City of Richmond, Senior Services.
Volunteers offer a wide variety of information on topics of concern to seniors - including housing, government pensions, BC Medical Plan, Fair PharmaCare, Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters, and much more. As well, volunteers can help clients complete government forms and/or access and print them.
This service is available to adults who are 55 years of age and older, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
A referral is not required.
To make an appointment with a volunteer Seniors Information &Referral Counsellor call 604-279-7020. Appointments are available at the VRIS office (Caring Place, 190-7000 Minoru Boulevard) or at West Richmond Community Centre (9180 Number 1 Road).
