child care referral service
The Richmond Child Care Resource & Referral Centre provides referrals, not recommendations. Parents are responsible for assessing and selecting a child care facility that most suits their needs and for monitoring the child care arrangement.

How a Referral Works
An Information and Referral Counsellor can provide a parent with contact information for child care providers based on criteria set out by the parent. Think of it as a personalized child care search. An Information and Referral Counsellor can find child care facilities that:
- Are near a parent’s home, place of work, or other location
- Offer specific services, including drop-in care, part time care, and extended hours
- Use a certain early childhood teaching method, such as Montessori or Reggio Emilia
- Are able to transport school age children to and from Richmond elementary schools
- Have staff who speak a language other than English, from Mandarin to French to Farsi
An Information and Referral Counsellor can also provide information on the BC Child Care Subsidy program and the average fees currently being charged by Richmond child care facilities.
Phone 604-279-7020 or drop by our office (no appointment needed) to have a child care referral done today. This service is free of charge.
