| Because we’re
here … people know where to turn. |
Hundreds of nonprofit organizations, government agencies and other community groups dot the Richmond landscape, helping those in need. Through the 30-plus years that Volunteer Richmond Information Services has been the purveyor of community information in Richmond, we've learned that it can sometimes be a challenge for people to find the services they need.
As the central clearinghouse of community information, the services of the Richmond Community Information Centre successfully bridge the disconnect between the community and the resources available for them. Each year, our volunteers and staff respond to over 15,000 public inquiries and distribute over 36,000 brochures on community services at our Richmond Caring Place office and at our Information Program at Richmond Centre’s Customer Care booth.
The Richmond
Community Services Directory is the cornerstone of our
information services. The directory is a complete inventory
of all community services, resources and assets in Richmond.
The directory is searchable online through the Richmond Public
Library website.
The new Low-Income Resource Directory, developed by the Poverty Response Committee through funding from Coast Capital Savings, lists free or low cost services in Richmond. Volunteer Richmond Information Services partnered with the Richmond Public Library to produce the online version found on the Richmond Public Library’s website.
We also produced the 4th edition of the Richmond Seniors Directory in partnership with The Richmond Review. Copies are available outside our office in the Caring Place, 190 – 7000 Minoru Blvd. and in various locations throughout the city.
